KAREN L. RANCOURT, Ph.D.

Karen L. Rancourt, Ph.D., an experienced management consultant, specializes in change management, organizational development, career transition and executive coaching.

As a career consultant and coach, including six years as a career advisor at JPMorgan Chase, Karen has helped hundreds of clients, primarily financial services professionals and lawyers, define and meet their career goals.

Prior to becoming a consultant, Karen served in several business functional areas, including: information technology, manufacturing, product support, marketing and new business development.

Karen has developed and delivers programs and workshops on a variety of topics, including: talent management, organizational politics, impression management and personal branding, cross-cultural management practices, intergenerational conflict, coaching and group dynamics.

In addition, Karen has developed a leadership development program, Management Conditioning Skills™, for new and less experienced managers (www.managementconditioning.com).  She has also developed parenting programs (www.RancourtParenting.com) purposefully targeted for affluent parents with young children because research indicates that these children are at significantly greater risk of developing serious emotional problems precisely because of their privileged circumstances.

A partial list of her clients includes: JPMorgan Chase Bank, Credit Suisse, TIAA-CREF, Thales Fund Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MIT Sloan School of Management, IBM, Compaq, Computer Sciences Corporation, MassMutual Financial Group, Shearman & Sterling, RSM McGladrey, Xerox Corporation, Whirlpool Corporation, Nabisco, Pfizer, Inc., Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, Capital Holding, Showtime Networks Incorporated, Viacom International, United States Air Force.

The author of two books on how to increase one's professional productivity and effectiveness (one of which was an alternate book-of-the-month club selection, The Executive Program®, Newbridge Communications), and one book on parenting (Yeah But, Children Need…, Schenkman Publishing), Karen is also the author of over a dozen business and education articles.

Karen received her Ph.D. in human behavior and education from the University of Maryland; she completed her undergraduate work in education and social sciences at Boston University. She is a former associate adjunct professor, New York University, Social Sciences, Organizational Behavior and Communication.

Karen is an experienced licensee of Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®) and a licensed practitioner for the Neethling Brain Instruments (NBI™) whole brain assessment tools.
She serves on the advisory board of In Good Company, a Manhattan-based organization that supports women entrepreneurs. In addition, she is a member of Women and Company (Citigroup).
